In the memory of Smt. Padmaja, Mr. Prasad with guidance and support of Smt. Subbalakshmi initiated an inter-collegiate competition in the field of literature, art and music in 2003 at Vidyavardhaka college in Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru. Competition was conducted in three main categories, BASHA which included Kannada English and Hindi debate and Sanskrit Sukthimadhuri. KALA which included flower arrangement and Rangoli competition and GANA which included Devaranama, Bhavageethe, Patriotic and folk songs. Total of 30-35 colleges with around 200 participants.
