OUR JOURNEY
Even as he grieved over the loss of his wife, Mr. Prasad took up various service-oriented activities. In 1999, with the support of Mrs. Subbalakshmi, he hosted a music contest at Vidyavardhaka college in Basaveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru. This went for eight years. Later, with the support of Mrs. Padmaja’s Journalism Professor, Mr. R N Padmanabha, Mr. Prasad initiated an inter-college singing competition in 2000 at Maharaja’s college, Mysuru. It continues to be funded by PPMF and has been one of the popular cultural events of University of Mysore.
Mr. Prasad has been sponsoring the education of a girl and a boy of SOS Children’s Villages India every year from 1999 and continues by using PPMF. PPMF has been funding the education activities of children of Government schools by providing books, school bags, stationery, Sports & Infrastructure. PPMF supports Government schools near Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district, Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district and high schools in backward areas in Karnataka border. PPMF has provided Kali-Nali round tables and chairs to the Government school at his ancestors’ Vokkodi village near Tumkur District through PPMF.
Mr. Prasad registered Smt Padmaja Prasad Memorial Foundation along with the support of his family and friends in 2022.
