Even as he grieved over the loss of his wife, Mr. Prasad took up various service-oriented activities. In 1999, with the support of Mrs. Subbalakshmi, he hosted a music contest at Vidyavardhaka college in Basaveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru. This went for eight years. Later, with the support of Mrs. Padmaja’s Journalism Professor, Mr. R N Padmanabha, Mr. Prasad initiated an inter-college singing competition in 2000 at Maharaja’s college, Mysuru. It continues to be funded by PPMF and has been one of the popular cultural events of University of Mysore.
Mr. Prasad has been sponsoring the education of a girl and a boy of SOS Children’s Villages India every year from 1999 and continues by using PPMF. PPMF has been funding the education activities of children of Government schools by providing books, school bags, stationery, Sports & Infrastructure. PPMF supports Government schools near Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district, Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district and high schools in backward areas in Karnataka border. PPMF has provided Kali-Nali round tables and chairs to the Government school at his ancestors’ Vokkodi village near Tumkur District through PPMF.
Mr. Prasad registered Smt Padmaja Prasad Memorial Foundation along with the support of his family and friends in 2022.

I am proud to be associated with N N Prasad from the day he married Padmaja with whom I grew up my childhood days & still, I remain one of their family member & a brother to Padmaja. It is indeed a great honor & recognition given to my beloved sister Padmaja by my BIL Prasad in forming a Trust in memory of her & servicing needy children in their academics through various activities & requirements in keeping a momentum & motivating the children to continue their studies without any hazel.
This action of Mr. Prasad needs appreciation & prayer for his every venture towards such yeomen service an all-time success by the grace of God & thank the entire trustees for their contributions too in this path.
